Large and medium-sized parts, mainly for car bodies, require the use of several presses to complete the final forming of the part. These press lines, also known as start-stop presses line and continuous presses line, include a drawing press that can be either double-acting or single-acting with a cushion at the bed. Depending on the number of operations required, several presses may be used, which can be either hydraulic or mechanical.

Presses line are fully automated, and robots or feeders are used for blank loading, loading the drawing press, and transferring between presses. This type of line can produce up to 12 strokes per minute and is easy to program and maintain. Programming is done through traffic lights that allow the automatic unloader to enter while the press stops in the PMS and waits for the light to change before stamping the next part. Other characteristics of today's conventional press lines include an HMI system that helps the operator, quick reference changes with moving bolsters, quick clamps, and quick die connectors, as well as well-structured programs and HMI aids for ease of maintenance.
